Introduction​:

Grade 304 Spring Stainless Steel Strips

The most popular spring stainless steel strip grade is grade 304 because it offers exceptional corrosion resistance.

In intermittent service up to 870°C and continuous service up to 925°C, 304 stainless steel strip exhibits good oxidation resistance.

When exposed to various corrosive media and conditions, 304 stainless steel strip exhibits remarkable corrosion resistance.

Due to excellent corrosion resistance, springs of this grade work in extreme weather conditions.

 

What is the difference between 304 and 304L vs 316 vs 316L?

316 stainless steel is similar in chemistry to 304 but also includes molybdenum. That addition makes it much more corrosion resistant. Like 304, the 316 formula does not require post-weld annealing. 316L stainless steel is almost identical to 316
